When the damage phase is up, the boss will summon more Vyr and two additional floating turret constructs. When all the Vyr are down, you're going to have a very brief window of opportunity to damage the Undying King. Ignore the Undying King until you manage to kill off the Vyr guardians, because you can't deal any damage to him while they're attacking you. Note that they will attack you soon as you trigger the boss encounter, and since they're fast and beefy, chances are that you'll get wounded right away.
